Woodwind Repairs
We offer a full line of repair services for the beginning student to the working professional. All of our repairs are play-tested and checked to insure the proper playing of your instrument.Flutes -Miles is Kentucky's exclusive Schmidt Gold Pad Technician. The thin film that covers the pads affects the tone of your flute and the tonal qualities of Gold are well known to be beneficial. Bladderskin hurts your tone and absorbs some of your precious sound and energy. Gold reflects all of that beautiful sound to the listening audience. What you get is a focused, well-centered tone that is rich, resonant and warm.
Miles is also a Straubinger Pad Technician. The Straubinger pad is used by some of the world's most discriminating flute makers. These pads are very consistent and will give your flute a firm and precise feel. We recommend these pads for all handmade flutes, and in some cases intermediate flutes.
