Samantha Jo Holman is a clarinet pedagogue and performer. She will soon hold two M.M. degrees from the University of Louisville in clarinet performance and music history. Her bachelor degrees are in the same field, also from the University of Louisville. Her interests include maintaining a private studio, premiering new works, and analyzing video game soundtracks. Her primary clarinet instructors include Dr. Matthew Nelson and Dallas Tidwell.
Samantha’s passion for new music inspired a collaboration with Quinn Dizon, University of Louisville alumni, resulting in the 2015 premiere of Drift for clarinet and electronics. She has a pending commission with Chris Kincaid and is looking forward to the Fall 2016 premiere. She performed Weber’s Concertino as a soloist with the University of Louisville Symphony Orchestra in 2014. Samantha also performed in Costa Rica and Interlaken, Switzerland, as principle clarinetist with University of Louisville ensembles.
